Description
Rooted in the folk medicine of northern New Mexico, encerado is a traditional healing balm made with pine pitch (trementina), beeswax, and slow-infused herbal oils. Our recipe blends wildharvested trementina with yarrow and comfrey—plants long revered for their ability to support wound healing, reduce inflammation, and nourish damaged skin.
Used for generations by curanderas and herbalists alike, encerado is applied to sore muscles, cuts, scrapes, bug bites, and chapped skin. It carries the grounding scent of the high desert forest and the wisdom of the land. Crafted in small batches with care, this salve honors tradition while meeting the needs of today’s herbal households.
INGREDIENTS: locally wildcrafted trementina and yarrow from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, olive oil infused with our garden grown comfrey, beeswax.
