Solve et Coagula: Spagyrics Foundations Class
Want to learn about spagyrics? Join us at Crone & Crow in Taos for an introduction to the traditional art of spagyric herbalism. We’ll explore the history, philosophy, and practical methods behind these unique preparations, including the alchemical principles of Mercury, Sulphur, and Salt, and how they’re brought back together to create a whole-plant medicine.
Spagyrics are slow medicine. The full process of creating a spagyric preparation unfolds over weeks—and sometimes months. Not to mention it requires fire! So while we can’t exactly fit the whole thing into an evening class, we can walk you through the process from beginning to end.
Think a little bit like a cooking show: we’ll demonstrate and explain the different stages, while bringing along preparations in various phases of the process—including plant extracts, calcined material, crystallized salts, and finished examples—so you can see what each step actually looks like.
Whether you’re an established herbalist or just curious about plant alchemy, this class is designed to offer a welcoming foundation.
